EMPATHY Kiyoung is empathetic, it's his "angelic talent" of sorts. Broadly speaking, he senses the emotions and feelings of those around him, and he is capable of creating profoundly deep empathetic connections. He usually doesn't want to, but he can. PASSIVELY receives emotions from those around him, getting stronger with proximity and intensity of emotion. With ACTIVE CONTROL this can be strengthened or stopped, but this requires sustained effort and focus. With CONSENT, he can deepen the empathetic connection to a pretty ridiculous degree, it depends on how far the person is letting him in, so to speak. Connection does not typically go two ways, but it can if he wants it to or with loss of control Not limited to mortal beings, but it does get dampened with more and more powerful beings This means he can typically identify other supernatural beings around him even through glamours, but he can still be fooled by strong illusions. MEMORY ACCESS An extension of his empathy, Kiyoung has a particularly rare ability that allows him to tap into the memories of others. Unless he's accessing a really recent surface memory, he typically needs time both for him to go deeper, and for his given "target" to open up to him, whether knowingly or not. Requires PHYSICAL CONTACT, but also ACTIVE EFFORT Accesses surface-level memories, vague impressions that depend on how strong or vivid the memory in question is Not typical but he can get vague flashes in physical contact, if there is some intense enough memory to be picked up With SUSTAINED PHYSICAL CONTACT, he can access deeper memories and in greater detail With CONSENT this immediately becomes much easier and much more detailed, it depends on how far he's being "let in", so to speak. Without consent, it depends on how emotionally and mentally guarded his target is. ABSOLUTION A special use of his memory manipulation, this is why Kiyoung is most sought after. He can entirely take a memory from someone, taking it into himself and leaving them completely free from it. This is rare even for an angel, and when coming from full angels this is a gift bestowed only on the worthy that brings with it forgiveness from God and genuine absolution for the removed memory, or the absolved sin. Kiyoung, however, is not really a full angel, let alone a seraph, and he's not nearly as powerful -- but also does not have any of those restrictions. He just doesn't have those benefits, either. Where an absolver seraph would just be able to reach into someone's mind and take a memory more or less effortlessly, for Kiyoung, this is a long, difficult process. Even those who specifically hire him for this "service" he needs to spend some time on, because paying him is one thing but trusting him enough to let him into their head is another. Once he gets in, though, the memory can be pulled out from the root, he can excise any traces of it elsewhere if need be. Fun non-exhaustive list of weird memories Kiyoung has absorbed Requires PHYSICAL CONTACT, requires CONSENT and also like SUSTAINED ACTIVE EFFORT CANNOT make new memories, and can only modify existing ones by removing parts from them Takes a long time to get deep enough, but once he's there he can remove just about anything. There is no giving memories back. Once he's cut out something, it's gone. Taken memories are "stored" separately, they do not leak into himself or form part of his natural memory. They can be accessed, but only manually. MISCELLANEOUS He's also just in general nephil, half-angel which means he's capable of some supernaturally things. He's only half-angel, and a young one at that, but the potential is there. IMMORTALITY, he can be killed by a sufficiently powerful being but will age into forever INHUMAN STRENGTH & AGILITY, but in terms of strength he'd be outclassed by most other immortals TELEPORTATION, short distances and he can't do it too much, either. Sure knows how the wards and charms them humans use work, because he sometimes has to use them he's only half angel

• from his father; memory of making a deal with a hellhound for his lover's protection. the first memory he absorbed and the first time he realized he had this power, though he uh didn't understand what the hell happened at the time. it was very startling and took him some time to figure out.

SUPERHUMAN SPEED/STRENGTH. As a supernatural creature Kiyoung generally is stronger and faster than the average human, compared to mortal human beings there's pretty much no contest. Kiyoung is only half-angel, limiting his ability, but the fact that the angel half was not just any angel but a seraph does mean that he's still a substantial threat. He's a capable match for low level demons or angels, especially with the aid of his knowledge of witchcraft, and in the right situations could even take on more powerful. In a straight competition of strength, though, he'll quickly be outclassed past these low level supernaturals. TELEPORTATION. A general divine power, this is something Kiyoung has inherited, but he's much more limited in what he can do with it. He can't really teleport to places he hasn't been, though he can teleport to wherever a given person is if it's someone he's tuned enough to, and doing this more than once or twice in succession would quickly tire him out, with larger distances taking more out of him. He honestly prefers to walk most of the time. IMMORTALITY. He might be half mortal but the immortal part takes precedent. Kiyoung will age into forever, and he could technically be killed but only by a being of immense power. While he has hardier than a mortal human, he can still get hurt and injured, and he will recover from those injuries similarly to how a mortal human does unless he's healed or otherwise treated. EMPATHY. * If Kiyoung had been created a full angel, his empathy would've been given to him as a talent and trait to assist him in his given role. As a nephil, he just kind of inherited this and is figuring out howt o deal with it. He passively receives emotions from those around him, he's learned to block this out and this is mostly trivial but can get difficult in more crowded situations. What emotions he receives depends on the strength of the emotion and his proximity to them, physical contact heightening it significantly, as well as just their general emotional openness, either to people at large or to him specifically. This ability is also what helps him sense other supernatural or otherwise magical creatures around him. His empathy may not work on more powerful beings, but that difference in how they "felt" would be very clear to Kiyoung. EMOTIONAL MANIPULATION. * Kiyoung can also subtly manipulate the emotions of those around him. Usually this is a pretty slight effect, but it gets stronger with physical proximity and with the target's emotional openness, and how much they trust Kiyoung in specific, i.e how much they would "let him in". ABSOLUTION (MEMORY MANIPULATION). * Kiyoung's rarest and most valuable asset that helped him find his niche in the underworld, the ability is rare even among angels. When bestowed by an angel, absolution is a divine gift, true forgiveness for a sin and the lifting of the burden from a person's soul, cleansing their soul of any scars and marks it may have left and offering them a clean slate. Kiyoung however, is not truly Divine, and thus anything he does carries zero power of forgiveness and has nothing to do with the voice and will of God. He can still play with memories, though. Essentially, Kiyoung can access people's memories. This generally requires physical contact but does not always and depends on factors like trust and openness, like most of Kiyoung's other abilities. While accessing them alone is already significant, the true power of absolution is the ability to completely excise a memory from the root. It is difficult for Kiyoung to do, as he needs to be able to get in "deep enough" to a person's mind, depending on the depth and complexity of the memory, but once he cuts it out it's gone and it cannot be returned. The catch is that that memory doesn't just disappear, it has to go somewhere, and it happens to be into Kiyoung himself. The memories he takes on in this way don't really bleed into his own, but being able to remember a lot of weird shit that other people wanted to forget still kind of takes its toll. WITCHCRAFT. Kiyoung is also a capable witch, mostly thanks to him wanting to make up for the whole only half-angel thing, he has a natural knack for it and having quite a good memory helps. The problem is that his witchcraft is pretty reliant on the makeup of his own world, and so while it might not completely fail here it certainly won't be as strong and might also just not work the way he wants it to. As is he has a very effective working knowledge of charms, seals and protective wards.
